Assessment - KS1
Year 1
Children in Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be assessed using the National Curriculum Objectives which feature on our data package, Classtrack, which plots their progress in learning. This is completed during most lessons and assessments are updated immediately (cumulative).
Colour coding for this assessment system is as follows:
Red – the child has not achieved this objective.
Yellow – the child has partially achieved this objective.
Green – the child has fully achieved this objective.
Purple – the child is working at greater depth in this objective.
Grey – the child has not been taught this objective.
Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
This screening test is administered internally. These results are then reported to the Local Authority and to parents/carers.
The tests take place in the Summer Term each year.
Any child who does not achieve the pass mark in Year 1 will then receive additional Phonics catch up in Year 2 and will re-sit the Phonics Screening test in the Summer Term of Year 2.
